From Novels to Video Games: Romantic Love and Narrative Form in Japanese Visual Novels and Romance Adventure Games

چکیده

Video games are powerful narrative media that continue to evolve. Romance in Japan, which began as text-based adventure and today known bish?jo otome games, form a textual corpus for literary studies. They adopt conventional strategies explore new forms formulated by an interface with computer-generated texts audiovisual fetishism, thereby challenging the assumptions about modern values of storytelling. The article first examines differences between visual novels feature female characters male audience romance audience. Through comparison, investigates how notions romantic love relationship have transformed from identity politics based on freedom autonomous self decentered model mediation interaction contemporary era.
